This is how a walk through should be. After having experienced a couple of (what I consider to be) bad walk through books I almost didn't purchase this. But then the Nerd inside of me got the better of me and I bought this Collector's edition. I'm not really a fan of the green color to be honest but the book it's self is pretty sweet looking. The gold looks nice and the hardback is tough and the pages are thick. This looks and feels like a quality book overall.The guide itself is amazing. If you follow it from start to finish you will get literally every item and do everything there is to do. The guide has a mixture of pictures and words that help you to make your way through the whole game. (I'm a little over halfway at this point). I'm loving it, ALBW is a great game and this is the perfect Strategy guide for it.
Pros:The guide's walk-through goes in the best order to help you explore all areas of both Hyrule and LoruleClear description and pictures to help you find/get all pieces of heart and Maiamai.Includes treasure hunting in the walkthough, you will get rich fast.Great strategies for beating bosses and other monsters.Hardcover version has a beautiful cover and the edges of the pages are gold :)etc.Con (really only one):There are a fair number of directional inaccuracies and other errors in the guide, many of which crop up in the dungeons. Take the directions with a grain of salt. Use your best judgement and you won't get off track. This is the only reason I can't give it 5 stars.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds - Collectors Edition Game Guide Hard on the heels of the releases of Nintendo's latest game in the Zelda franchise - "A Link Between Worlds" - Prima Publishers has issued a companion game guide in a collectors edition. For this amateur gamer I find these Prima guides indispensable. The guide is an encyclopedia of walk through helps, location of hidden items and hint for solving puzzles and defeating various evils doers. Numerous world maps in the back of the book are keyed with locations of places to visit, to avoid, and treasure locations and temples. You certainly don't need a guidebook to play this game. Some folks feel a guide detracts from the challenge of solving the various riddles and defeating the bosses. I find having the guide very helpful when I reach a dead end, but that's one person's opinion. The collector's edition is a large hardbound book measuring 8.5 inches by 11, gilt edged and 320 pages long. The cover boards are light green with a stylized gold border with a Zelda/Triforce design imprinted on the front cover. To my knowledge this is the fifth Zelda Collectors Edition published by Prima - the only difference is the other editions is the color of the hardbound boards. Highly recommend as an attractive Legend of Zelda collectable and a useful companion to a challenging game.
The amazon description clearly states the guide's size is "8 x 0.7 x 10.8 inches" -- not the case here. Mine is closer to 6in x 8in, and EVERYTHING inside is tiny. I will need magnifiers to read it. The IBSD number is not QUITE the same as the one in the amazon description, so I feel it's been a bit of bait-and-switch. Personally would not have spent this $ if I knew the book would be a mini version.
I have already beat this game but this guide is helpful in furthering my exploration of things that I had missed the first time around. The charts and maps in this guide have been very useful in helping me find things like hearts, treasure chests and hidden items that are hard to locate. I would recommend this guide!!
My great nephew loves the Legend of Zelda game! He asked for the book for Christmas and I got it for him. When he opened it he said, "Wow! That's the best gift ever! Thanks!" He immediately started reading it to get pointers on how to play the game better. I would recommend this highly due to the quality of the book and the speediness of delivery. 5 stars! Thanks!
But as soon as i opened up the shipping package containing the book. i notice a small torn / ripped part in the upper right front cover of the book. I was disappointed. and next thing i immediately returned it and exchanged it for another new copy. Was excited to open this up and and take a closer look in details to the book. Overall, this is a great Legend of Zelda collection guide book to add to your collections. I have been a fan of Zelda since the first game out.
First this hard bound book is well worth the few extra dollars over the soft bound version. Nice cover , gilded edges, came with a free code for a digital version and a nice 5X7 piece of art. The content was complete, very well illustrated and provided all the guidance the novice and seasoned gamer will need to navigate this game to the end. Highly recommend this guide book. Very nice.
